DEE'S DIARY

 Priceless

In the news last night I saw that there was a prank pulled at a local High School. About 50 doors to classrooms were glued shut. They had to pry the doors open and change all the locks, they put glue inside the locks so that teachers couldn't put the keys in. I don't know about you but I thought that was hilarious! Unfortuately the school had to waste money in replacing the locks but in the end it wasn't a prank that physically hurt anyone. I thought it was priceless!!

 Close Call

Yesterday was completely not my day. It started off good I slept a little more in the morning. Since it's the weekend Alex took over baby duties in the morning so I was able to sleep until 9:00. I spent some time coloring with Taylor before she left to her dad's house.

Me and Alex started a little BBQ. The baby was inside asleep on his swing so I took the baby monitor and sat out on the back porch relaxing with Alex. I came back in the house made some french fries then when I was done I went back outside since the baby was still sleeping. We start talking about renting a movie so we decide I should go quickly while the baby was still asleep. As I'm walking towards the back door, through the window on the door I can see the pan that I had cooked the fries on is on the stove ON FIRE!!!! The first words out of my mouth were "OH SHIT"!!! I went inside, grabbed the flaming pan and took it outside as I'm walking out the door witht he flaming pan the wind pushes the flames my way so I threw the pan on the floor and screamed for Alex. I went back inside..the house was full of smoke, I turned off the stove, opened the front door and grabbed the baby to take him out of the smoke filled house. I completely freaked out...I almost burnt the house down with my son inside!! Luckily evertything was okay. Looking back I don't think grabbing the flaming pan was such a great idea but my first reaction was to take the flaming thing out of my house!!! Since it was oil burning on the pan I knew I couldn't throw water on it so that was the only thing I thought of to do. So I burned my hand, the tips of my eyebrows and eyelashes were burnt too, but the baby is okay and I didn't burn anything inside the house. We don't own the house we rent and it's an old house that needs to be remodeled, the house has iron bars on the inside on all the windows. So thank god I went in when I did before the house really caught on fire because i would not have been able to get inside to get the baby out through any of the windows..that's what freaked me out the most. You would think that would be the end of my day..but nooooo.....

The light bulb in the ceiling fan in the dining room went out so Alex changed the bulb. He must have not screwed the light base back on correctly because when I went to go pull the string to turn the light off the light base fell hit me on the head and shattered into a million pieces on the floor.
So now I have a burnt hand, burned eyebrows/eyelashes and a bump on my head!! What a day!!!

Thankfully we are all safe and nothing happened but my oh my that was a close one..One that I will never forget. I told Alex I don't think I should cook for a while!!

 Panic at the Crib

Having a newborn in the house hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be.He behaves particulary well. Although my daughter Taylor feels the need to get in his face all the time. She talks to him with her face right in his. I've told her a couple of times to stop and I don't want to be so mean about it because I don't want her to get mixed feeling with the baby and all..so finally I showed her how annoying it might be. I had her stand right in front of me and I got within one inch of her face and started doing the same thing that she does to Hunter. I think she got the point and she's been pretty good about it since.

Yesterday I was changing Hunter's diaper on his changing table and Taylor was standing right next to me leaning against his crib. Somehow I don't know how my child managed to stick her foot through the little slots of the crib. She started screaming that her foot was stuck. So I tell her to relax because she's scareing the baby with her screaming. As I'm trying to get her foot unstuck..she's hyperventilating saying that she's stuck and that I'm going to break her foot and she's not going to be able to take it out. I swear she was having a panic attack it was almost hilarious. When I finally get her to calm down it was fairly simple to get her foot out and then she laughed about it but OMG what a dilema. I didn't know she had it in her to go into such panic.

On another note, Hunter slept pretty good last night, he only woke up twice so I was able to get some sleep.

 Need Sleep

I yearn for the morning that I can wake up with a full nights sleep. I am enjoying being home and he is the most beautiful baby in the whole wide world. But OMG..It sucks to wake up every two hours and it takes about an hour to feed him . Thank god I don't have to go to work yet or I would be a major zoombie!! But besides suffering from lack of sleep he is a wonderful baby. But I sure wouldn't mind 6 straight hours of sleep..

 It's been a long time

Wow..
It has been a really long time since I posted anything. Everything is going wonderfully!! Since I last posted we have celebrated my daughter's 5th b-day, My boyfriends b-day, my b-day (I can't believe I'm already 26..were has the time gone!!) And the birth of my beautiful baby boy!!! He is two weeks old now. I've been staying home with him and I can honestly say that I am enjoying being home. I thought that I would get claustrophobic and be dying to get back to work. But that hasn't been the case at all. I am actually dreading having to go back to work at the end of this month. I love being home with him. Then again that just might be because he does nothing but sleep all day. But I really am LOVING it. I thought my daughter would be really jealous with him but she has surprised me and is actually doing wonderfully!! She has been a great little helper. Although I do have to be careful with her..I have caught her trying to pick him up by herself a couple of times!! She's going to make his head fall off!!! Now that I'm home I will try and get more posting done.
